About CPEN
Chicago Private Equity Network is an alumni organization focused on connecting and serving University of Chicago alumni who are currently investing principal in private equity and venture capital. In addition to its Chicago location, CPEN recently launched new chapters in New York, San Francisco, and Asia.
CPEN was formally launched by Chicago Booth alums in 2004, and its membership has grown to include over 300 members worldwide. Members meet several times a year to discuss industry trends. Previous CPEN events have included an evening in Chicago with David Rubenstein, founder of The Carlyle Group, which was co-hosted by the Illinois Venture Capital Association (IVCA), and a discussion with Professor Raghuram Rajan at the Grand Hyatt, New York, on the current state of the global private equity industry.
CPEN Membership is primarily open to University of Chicago alumni currently investing capital in private equity or venture capital, as well as PE/VC limited partners. Alumni working in the various service provider industries that serve the private equity markets are invited to join CPEN as sponsors. Alumni can join CPEN for $100 membership fee. Including opportunities to attend events, CPEN members also have access to a searchable member directory.
