About CPEN
CPEN is an alumni organization focused on connecting and serving University of Chicago alumni who are currently investing principal in private equity and venture capital. CPEN has active chapters in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Asia.
CPEN was formally launched by Chicago Booth alumni in 2004, and its membership has grown to include over 300 members worldwide. Members meet several times a year to discuss industry trends. Previous events have included an evening in Chicago with David Rubenstein, founder of The Carlyle Group, which was co-hosted by the Illinois Venture Capital Association (IVCA), and a discussion with Professor Raghuram Rajan at the Grand Hyatt, New York, on the current state of the global private equity industry. CPEN members also have access to a searchable member directory.
CPEN membership is primarily open to University of Chicago alumni investing capital in private equity or venture capital, as well as PE/VC limited partners. Alumni can join CPEN for $100 membership fee. Alumni working in the various service provider industries that serve the private equity markets are invited to join CPEN as sponsors.
